Khandan-e-Hakim Nooruddin
Two brothers, Mohammad Panah and Mohammad Saleh, were famous Hakeems (physicians) of their time. Mohammed Saleh’s grandson, Hakeem Nooruddin, was the minister of health during the rule of Mughal king Shah Alam. The family took its name after Hakeem Nooruddin who was also called “Pahari Waale”. Another member of this family, Shah Abdul Aziz Dehlvi was appointed by the Mughal king to deliver Friday sermons in the Jamae Masjid (grand mosque). He was also called “Bare Akhwandji”. His son Mohammad Umar was also a famous scholar of his time.
